Route of Escape is simply more than a collection of poems, but an allegory, and the dark descent that follows. Some poems are inspired by mythology, some are odes to flawlessness, while others cover modern decay, and mental illness in an unforgiving world. But what remains common throughout is a modern take on grisly description and usage of introspective metaphors. Ruthless, tender, apropos, these poems explore themes of codependency and desire in the twenty-first century.

Quinn Bodon lives in Carlsbad, California. He frequents the local San Diego poetry slams, and runs the Carlsbad High School Poetry Club. He is 16 years old.
