The author has been writing poetry since childhood; this is her first published collection of poems, although her work has appeared in numerous journals and magazines.

Martha Patterson's 27-story collection Small Acts of Magic was published by Finishing Line Press in 2021. She is a poet, playwright, essayist, and fiction author whose work has been published in numerous anthologies and journals. Her playwriting work has been produced in eight countries and 21 U.S. states. She earned her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College and an M.A. from Emerson College, both degrees in Theatre. She lives in Boston, Massachusetts, the USA.
