Prose, poetry, chapbook, 36 pages, from Bottlecap Features.
Dear Dane,
Your little book is cute, and naturally, I’m flattered. However, I have to admit that when I said on the phone at some point during our brief time together that I could imagine a larger audience for our private correspondence, I didn’t really believe you could or would go through with it.
Nevertheless, I hope you profit from my name, and if we get a chance to meet again — I don’t know — the love was real, it was. In the end I hope your reader sees what I do in these pages of verse and epistle. Grace — unexpected, undeserved, and unconditional. I’m sorry I never wrote back.
The one that flew away,
Rebekah Solomon
D. Beveridge writes in Los Angeles where everything is concrete. In the Global War on Terrorism he served aboard a fast-attack submarine in the Pacific Fleet. His work has appeared in Local Knowledge, Full Stop, First Literary Review-East, and various art galleries around the city.
